News & Events
IRWG's Lesbian-Gay-Queer Research Initiative recently collaborated with the University of Michigan Museum of Art and the School of Music, Theatre & Dance to present a concert of music by queer American composers. The concert, Circles and Sensibilities: Music by and for Virgil Thomson took place on November 1, 2013.
Audience members count on IRWG to learn more about their own special fields of interest and to become familiar with developments in areas they know less well, but which have a clear bearing on women and gender.
In all, IRWG sponsors or cosponsors about 50 events annually. Our style leans toward informal, with lively question-and-answer periods following nearly every presentation. We point with pride to our healthy refreshments. Nearly all IRWG events are offered free of charge.
In addition to calendar events, these pages chronicle the exciting accomplishments of IRWG’s scholars and researchers, who contribute much to IRWG’s vibrancy.
